The World Boxing Federation (WBF)
ABOUT THE WORLD BOXING FEDERATION
Founded in 1988 in the United States, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) became one of the leading professional boxing sanctioning bodies during the 1990s. After a brief hiatus, the organization was successfully re-established in 2009 as a registered non-profit sports organization based in South Africa.
Under the leadership of President Howard Goldberg and an experienced international executive team, the WBF has grown stronger than ever. Since its relaunch, the federation has sanctioned more than 2,000 championship bouts across every inhabited continent while maintaining the highest standards with only four championship titles per weight division.
The WBF is committed to fairness, integrity, and creating opportunities for boxers and promoters worldwide. Through internationally recognized championship events and regular world conventions, the federation continues to promote the sport with professionalism and transparency.
With a proud history and a clear vision for the future, the World Boxing Federation remains dedicated to putting boxing and its athletes first—today and for generations to come.
